At Wick School we try our best to raise lots of money for really worthwhile causes. Our school council board shows all the worthwhile charities we have supported this year. Here are a few of the fundraising projects we have been involved with.
Pupils, staff and parents at Wick School were sponsoring a Mexican girl called Daniella Martinez through the charity Compassion. This was a long term project and the money raised paid for her education and help support her family and the wider community. Each year in January we held a Daniela Martinez day to celebrate her birthday and raise money.
We now sponsor a new child called Headee in the Dominican Republic and arrange various fundraising events throughout the year to help support her. We receive updates and information about her school progress and wider family/community. If you need further information you can access the following website: www.compassionuk.org
The year 6 class have been following Ian Robson's trek up Kilimanjaro and helping to raise money for Sue Ryder. The whole school have been involved by running and walking the distance undertaken by Ian to reach the summit of Kilimanjaro. We managed to raise £1,408.03 for the Sue Ryder charity.
Red Nose Day
The school council and our community raised £287.35 by selling red noses, dressing up in red and holding a cake sell. Well done to all.
The Children's Society

Remembrance Poppy Appeal
Children and staff buy poppies and other lovely items to raise money for this charity every year. This we managed to raise £205.79 for the Poppy Appeal.
Save the Children
The children have helped make the world better by wearing a Christmas jumper and raising £99.00. The money raised will help children around the world have a better life.
