Peregrines' cultural trip to Easton 4 We had a yummy curry and met the Asian community

We had a wonderful day in Easton meeting people from the different communities there.

At Shah Jalal Mosque we found out some more about Islam; Rizwan was really friendly and helped us to understand how and why Muslims pray.

At the Gurdwara (Sikh temple) we saw how the Guru Granth Sahib (the holy book) is treated as the living Guru. It even has a bedroom! We heard the instruments used during services and found out about what some of the symbols mean.

After that we went to the Asian Day Centre where we had a delicious curry and then chatted with people from all over Bristol who like to have a get-together. They told us a bit about where their families had come from and what it had been like to come to a strange country when they were young. Everyone was really friendly (and most of the boys had second helpings of curry!).
