Year 5 – Peregrines

Teachers – Mrs Bolton and Mrs Barrett

Year 5 is taught by two teachers: Mrs Bolton on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays and Mrs Barrett on Thursdays and Fridays. The following information is to help you support your children during their time in year 5 but please do ask if you have further questions.    The children will be met at the kitchen gate at 8.50 and will be escorted to class where they will wash their hands on entry.  They will be escorted to the kitchen gate at the end of the day at 3.15 with a member of staff.  Handwriting practise and mini-maths will be done as the register is taken.  Our morning is structured with maths, spellings, English and reading, with an on-line assembly and break time mid-morning.   Our afternoons are taught by both specialist teachers and by us. Please encourage your child to read regularly, and check that they are reading books at the correct level for them, whether fiction or non-fiction.    Homework and spellings are sent out termly by email and are on this page and on Google Classroom  and we would encourage work to be submitted on Google Classroom where possible. Homework should be submitted on Wednesdays and spellings are tested fortnightly.  Please see our welcome letter below with more details about year 5.

Best wishes,  Mrs Barrett and Mrs Bolton
