Lunch & Snacks
The school is dedicated to providing an environment that promotes healthy eating and enables children to make informed choices about the food they eat and where it comes from.
Snacks
Children are welcome to bring a snack for break time but we ask that it is only fruit or vegetable. This can be a single piece, such as an apple or banana, or chopped/ small fruit in a named container.
KS1 children are already provided with free fruit/veg each day from the Government (they can still bring their own fruit or veg in reusable containers if you wish).
We also offer children the opportunity to have toast each break time. It costs 20 pence per day, which you will need to pay in advance each term via the ‘Shop’ option on School Money. The toast will be delivered to each classroom just before break. The school will notify you each term when it is time to order and pay for the following term.
Packed Lunches
Packed lunches should be wholesome and healthy.
You should try to include the following:
-
Starchy Foods - These include bread, rice, potatoes, pastas and others.
-
Protein Food - These include meat, eggs, beans, fish and others.
-
Vegetables or salad, and a portion of fruit.
-
A Dairy Item - This could be yoghurt or cheese.
